Welcome to our March Newsletter.

As London’s leading black agency, we are well positioned to work with agency and business. Thanks to our innovative way of working using apprentice schemes, interns and young people from the Stratford area we can provide agencies with services that match the quality and costs of in house or individual providers. We have provided film and content for many agencies that match and even surpass what they can get from any other places and at much better rates and usually faster. And we don’t just talk diversity, we are truly diverse. Why not give us a try?

For us at EMH Global, March is set to be filled with exciting activities. In this edition we join our directors in celebrating their roots, Ghana the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to gain independence from British colonial rule in 1957 celebrates 61 years of Independence this month.

We are pleased to announce our collaboration with East London Chamber of Commerce to co-host a networking event this month - our panel of experts will be discussing why doing it the usual way no longer makes sense. At EMH Global an agency where women make up over two thirds of the workforce, we celebrate International Women’s Day this month.

EMH Supporting Creative Groups in East London

Our appreciation goes to the Art Recovery Group an art group for vulnerable adults, particularly mental health service users in East London for creating an art work for our agency.

The group will be displaying a selection of their work at our Breaking Conventions Making Connections – Networking event on 21st March at the Theatre Royal Stratford

Breaking Conventions, Making Connections. Networking in a diverse complex world

EMH Global in partnership with the East London Chamber of Commerce invites all to our breakfast networking event themed Breaking Conventions Making Connections – Networking in a complex diverse world on Wednesday 21st March 2018. The event will be held at Theatre Royal Stratford East, London, E15 1BN. It will offers up an amazing opportunity for all who attend to listen to a panel of great speakers and be able to ask any questions they desire.

Our speakers are Julia Hobsbawm OBE a Consultant at Editorial Intelligence, Kay Scorah founder of Have More Fun and Ben Carter UK Marketing Director for Just Eat. The event will be chaired by Philip Osei-Hwere co-founder EMH Global.

Julia Hobsbawm OBE to pre-launch new book “Fully Connected -Social Health in an Age of Overload” at Theatre Royal Stratford East

Our Breaking Conventions Making Connections networking breakfast event coming up on 21 ^st March is receiving an overwhelming booking response. EMH is excited to announce that attendees will be having an exclusive opportunity to pick up limited copies of Julia Hobsbawm OBE latest book which will be officially released on Thursday 22 ^nd March.

The book which is a must-read for individuals and policy makers alike has been shortlisted for Business Book of the Year Award 2018 and CMI's Management Book of the Year Award 2018

Hobsbawm’s Fully Connected has touched a nerve. Since hardback publication in 2017 she has given 100 keynotes and talks around the world about Social Health. She is inspiring a new generation of managers and policymakers as well as all of us - ordinary working professionals desperate for some navigation. The paperback contains new updated material and will bring her message to a mainstream audience.

Fully Connected takes us on a journey 'from Telex to Twitter' – to illustrate how the answer to the Age of Overload can come from devising management-based systems which are both highly practical and yet intuitive, and which draw inspiration from the huge advances the world has made in tackling other kinds of health, specifically nutrition, exercise, and mental well-being. Julia who is also the founder of the pioneering knowledge networking firm Editorial Intelligence in 2005, will be available to sign copies of her book after the presentations.

EMH Global is delighted to be a member of the Editorial Intelligence’s Network Club. Not only that, Philip Osei-Hwere our managing director has been invited to be a judge for Editorial Intelligence’s most coveted award the Editorial Intelligence Comments Award. The Awards in its 10 ^th year, was founded to celebrate the achievements of the UK’s finest and most influential print and online commentators and their editors.

Project Of The Month

New Agency Video for EMH Global

Our dynamic content production division led by director Martin Anncou, do not only seek to produce innovative content for our clients, the team are regularly reviewing our agency presentation to ensure our story as London leading black agency is highlighted in all our presentation.

In February the production team released a new 47sec. intro video for the agency’s website. The brief was to produce a video which reflected our team’s diverse make up whilst showing off our skill at producing content that capture the attention of our audience. We are proud to present our new reel which was created through team work by the creative minds within our agency.

Staff Profile Of The Month

Welcome to our Team Member Spotlight, in which we have a conversation with one team member in a rapid-fire Q&A to find out a little bit about the dynamic people who make up the great team EMH Global

Meet Mark Robinson, our Director for strategy and business development here at EMH Global. Mark joined EMH in 2016 after supporting the agency as a freelance consultant for over 10years. He has been responsible for rebranding and repositioning the EMH to become London’s leading black agency

Here is what we asked Mark Robinson…

Q: Job Title?

A: Director, Head of strategy and business development

Q: How long have you been with EMH Global?

A: Been involved with EMH informally since I met Philip in 2006 at a Common Purpose training program. I formally joined in 2016

Q: What drives you?

A: The challenge of making EMH Global in to the success we deserve. We are heaving with talent

Q: What do you love most about working at EMH?

A: Interacting with the folk here. We have a great time, a real laugh every day

Q: What makes you passionate about this business?

A: I enjoy the creativity that comes out of this place. We have a unique position in the market - London’s leading Black agency - and its vital we convey why that makes us so specially qualified

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: Beyond EMH, I am passionate about the Remain cause, I am the founder of Prison Radio and a trustee of the Prison Radio charity which was Charity of the Year last year. I am very involved with the Theatre and was on the Board of the Gate Theatre up to January. I go to the theatre just about every week, and I am a member of Richmond Film Club. I am also involved in an organisation that supports Co-operative ownership of football clubs across Africa.

Q: Where is your go to place to relax?

A: I am keen on the gym. I go along to classes in the hope of being shamed in to action by all the young people there

Q: Where is your go to place to have fun?

A: I am no stranger to eating out and a victim of new restaurants. And going on holiday....

Q: What is the environment like at EMH?

A: Brilliant. Its buzzing. Filled with young talent.

Q: What fun things have you done at EMH?

A: Well we are right next door to Nandos. Who could ask for more

Q: What advice would you give someone wanting to join our agency?

A: Hard work, sense of humour, and an ability to turn your hand to the weirdest of things

Q: What's one tip you think everyone should know about this agency?

A: It’s not about banging on about diversity, it’s about actually being diverse. We live the diversity dream!
