ICF Awards
The ICF Abbott Fenn Druzhba (Friendship) Award identifies significant and exemplary contributions to the international camping community. In 2013, the Rebyach’ya Respublika Children’s Centre was recognized with the presentation of the Druzhba Award. The team of camp professionals at Rebyach’ya Respublika is known in the Tyumen Region and across Russia as a beacon of excellence providing facilities, program and leadership that are some of the best examples in camping.
|
|
Leading that team of camp professionals at Rebyach’ya Respublika, both before and after that recognition in 2013, is Larisa Vladimirovna Shilova. Larisa serves as Director General of Rebyach’ya Respublika and is President of the Tyumen Region Camp Association: “We Are Together”. She is a key representative in various governmental/non-governmental organizations and recipient of numerous awards related to camping and children’s recreation. Larisa has also looked for every opportunity to support and host international participation at camping conferences and events in the Tyumen Region.
In 2021, the ICF Board agreed unanimously that the name of Larisa Shilova should be noted, recognized and celebrated alongside the name of Rebyach’ya Respublika as recipient of the Abbott Fenn Druzhba Award. This recognition is now enshrined on the permanent award in ICF Headquarters.

ICF Academy S2 E2: Innovation at Camp - January 18, 2022
Camp in the USA has deeply impacted people for more than 100 years. It has inspired leaders and life-long relationships and it has been a light to look forward to for many. Still, if you look at the basics of many camps, things have not changed very much in spite of the fact that the communities that we serve have changed.
Join us to hear discoveries and questions that a creative team is still chewing on after a think-tank style re-imagination of camp. What are their next steps? What reactions do camp professionals around the world have about how these ideas might re-shape the work we do?
