SAVE WATER THIS SUMMER

Northern Virginia is experiencing a drought, making water conservation more important than ever! Simple actions at home can help preserve our local water supplies and reduce pollution from stormwater runoff.

Here's how you can help:

  • Install a rain barrel. Collect rain for use on your lawn and garden.

  • Start a rain garden. Help your plants absorb rain and reduce runoff.

  • Plant native, drought-tolerant plants. They don't need to be watered as frequently and will thrive without special care, such as fertilizers.

  • Water your yard responsibly. Water early in the day, water deeply and less often, and don't water your sidewalks or driveway.

  • Fix leaks or dripping faucets. Avoid water waste in your home.

Let's conserve water and support cleaner waterways!
