EMERGENCY SNAP BENEFITS ENDING 3/1

Beginning March 1, there will be no more emergency SNAP allotment for people receiving SNAP benefits. This federal pandemic relief measure is being phased out, which will mean a significant reduction in benefits for many of the people we serve.

Because of this change, we need your support more than ever.

Please consider donating large print word search or crossword puzzle books, jigsaw puzzles, or any other activity items that seniors would enjoy. All donations should be brought to Headquarters and directed to program expansion manager, Natia Barnett. Thank you for your support!

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT – MARY AND BILL R.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, this month we are featuring a volunteer power couple: Mary and Bill R!

Mary and Bill began volunteering in 2021 as a way to give back to the community in retirement and have since become regulars at our headquarters. This duo works hard and always brings joy into the building. (How funny and cute is this photo of them?) We are so grateful for their work!

In addition to their volunteer work at Nourishing Hope, Mary and Bill also volunteer with the Anti-Cruelty Society and have fostered 15 cats over the past two years.

When asked what they enjoy about volunteering at Nourishing Hope, Bill said, “We look forward to every volunteer email from Diego because we enjoy his dad jokes so much, and often laugh out loud at them. Also the friendly people – staff and fellow volunteers alike."

Thank you so much for your volunteerism, Mary and Bill!
