A Facilities Workday Around the Corner

This Saturday is our June Facilities Workday and there are lots of jobs to do! Our intrepid facilities volunteers will begin with coffee and donuts around 7:30 am and then get to business with these tasks that help make our campus beautiful and welcoming.

  • Irrigation repairs: Presmick Patio, outside of Multipurpose Room, and Sanctuary slope
  • Inspect possible leak on preschool playground
  • Repair Festival Garden fountain
  • Tree stump removal (drill holes and put in Epsom salt)

We're so grateful for the care that volunteers give to our property! Do YOU feel an itch to get outside and work? You're welcome to pitch in.
Our Community This Week
Wednesday (6/9): Connections Count on Zoom at 7:00 pm
We've been doing this connection time on Wednesdays for a while now. Maybe you are needing to gather with friendly faces tonight. Zoom is the space for bringing our celebrations and our sorrows. This time together keeps us joined at heart! Click here TONIGHT at 7:00 to participate.

Thursday (5/27): Spirituality Thursday
On Thursdays in June, we're resting! This week, look for a short introduction to The Nap Ministry, live on the Shadow Rock Facebook page. Catch this short video live or tune in later to watch the recording.

Sunday, June 13
Adult Spiritual Formation will be meeting on Zoom and in the Multipurpose Room this Sunday at 10:00 am. It's our last class before Sabbath! We'll be looking again at Romans, chapter 8. Sunday morning formation is for everyone - no preparation or prior knowledge is necessary!

Worship In-Person: 9:00 am and 11:00 am
Worship on Zoom or Streaming: 11:00 am
Afterparty In-Person and on Zoom: noon - 12:45 pm
It's a great day to be with your Shadow Rock family this week as we attempt a mash-up of celebrating Pride and preparing for Sabbath. Click the big button below to let us know that you're coming this week.

After the 11:00 am service, Zoom folks and in-person folks can both dive into Ken's sermon topic with a discussion question or two. Join us in the Multipurpose Room or just stay on Zoom for a deep diving Afterparty!
Learn and Explore
Let's get ready! We will be gathering for a congregational meeting on Sunday morning, June 20 at 10:00 am in the Sanctuary.

Board leaders are currently finalizing the 2021-2022 board slate. If you are interested in board service, please reach out to Liz Curry or Nanci Campbell.

Through the summer, Ktizo UCC, a sibling congregation in the Southwest Conference, is opening their church home for people seeking water and safety from the extreme heat. They have done this for several years and they are inviting us to participate in this life saving ministry.

We're getting warmed up and cooled down! Here's everything you need to know about Sabbath this year:

July: Members of the Shadow Rock Board will lead Wednesday Connections on Zoom at 7:00 pm (July 7, 14, 21, and 28).

Fall 2021: Beginning on August 1, we will have a single worship service at 10:15 am, followed by Coffee Chat. The Sunday following Labor Day (September 12), we will return to our pre-pandemic Sunday Morning Experience.
