The City of Brampton and the Invest Brampton team recently welcomed a massive $5.2 million investment from the Government of Canada, through FedDev Ontario, to fuel local business growth and tech innovation.
The funding will directly launch two major City-led economic initiatives:
The Brampton Business Growth Accelerator: Led by Invest Brampton to help local businesses scale, innovate, and break down barriers to growth.
The BNext AI Program: Dedicated to helping companies boost productivity and adopt AI solutions.
The Brampton Innovation District will collaborate with the BHive Innovation and Training Hub to deliver the BNext AI Program.

The Altitude Accelerator and Altitude Angels recently took over Brampton City Hall for Founders & Funders 2026! An impactful event bringing together investors, founders, and ecosystem leaders to unlock capital and accelerate growth.
The highlight of the day was the Money Panel, moderated by Nick Kuryluk (CoSality & Altitude Angels). Industry experts Andrew Opala (Preference Capital), Henna Agha (Ontario Centre of Innovation), and Rebecca Griffith (SOFII) took the stage to share practical insights on securing funding, leveraging non-dilutive capital, and building winning applications.

Brampton's local talent pipeline is operating at a world-class standard! A crew of brilliant students from Central Peel Secondary School recently visited the Brampton-based MDA Space HQ for an exclusive tour of their Space Robotics Centre of Excellence.
They were joined by Regional Councillor Rowena Santos and the Brampton Innovation District to celebrate a historic milestone for Canadian youth.

The Achievement: The Central Peel Space Club, led by Simona Matei, recently made history by winning the Grand Prize in the National Space Society’s Gerard K. O’Neill Space Settlement Contest. They beat out over 23,000 students from 31 countries, becoming the first Canadian team ever to take home the top honors.

The Big Picture: This hands-on experience at MDA Space bridges the gap between local classrooms and the international space economy, inspiring the next generation of pioneers right here in Brampton.
