News & events in the world of Ayurveda
May 2019
From the Ayurvedic Clinic, Ayurveda Institute UK and
the Association of Ayurvedic Professionals UK
We are excited to announce that we have significantly changed the Diploma in Ayurvedic Lifestyle and Nutrition for 2019.

The course now offers the equivalent teaching of a full-time course and still delivered in a way that is flexible to fit around your life.

The enormous increase in the amount of teaching and practicum will significantly enhance students’ experience of learning Ayurveda and offers more support for our new practitioners to set up in practice than any other training provider of this kind.

Previously the course contained over 600 hours of teaching, training clinics, case studies, tutorials, Q&A sessions via live-stream, advisory facility and forum via social media. We are now adding a further 80-100 additional hours of teaching in video format to the curriculum plus case studies, shadow consultations, training clinics, practical classes in medicine making and identifying herbs and medicine classes.

Want to benefit from FREE medicines?

The Ayurveda Institute UK in conjunction with the Ayurvedic Clinic conducts advanced training clinics, in which patients have a series of consultations with highly experienced Ayurvedic doctors, which are recorded for the purposes of training our practitioners and act like shadowing. The consultations and the medicines prescribed are totally free and worth hundreds of pounds.

We are looking for people who are willing to participate fully in their health and wellbeing and who are experiencing issues in these areas:
  • fertility (including issues such as endometriosis, PCOS, fibroids, etc)
  • weight gain, diabetes, heart issues
  • skin disorders (including eczema, psoriasis, acne etc)
  • digestive issues (such as chrons, colitis, IBS, coeliac etc)

This is an incredible opportunity for you to have a series of consultations and all medicines free of charge while at the same time making a valuable contribution to the training of Ayurvedic Practitioners.

Your consultation will be as normal with the doctor in private so you can relax and speak freely. The recordings of the consultations are kept strictly under the supervision of the Institute and not sent to our students, and cannot be downloaded. Each practitioner is bound by the terms of the Code of Ethics of the Association of Ayurvedic Professionals UK and is trusted to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.

CHARITY WORK
Sri Lanka

Supun's garden of 47 plants :
The children are growing medicinal plants in their own gardens to be used in Ayurvedic medicines in the UK.

The first phase of this project is now underway - beginning the gardens. Some plants can also be grown to provide food for their own families and to earn an additional income .

Empahat's medicinal garden:
Your support is literally transforming the lives of these children and their families. It means everything to them.

Dr Deepika and Geoff will visit these families during their annual holiday in April to donate more provisions. If you would like to donate for vouchers for shoes, uniforms, school bags etc please get in touch with us.
We want to give you an update on how amazingly the children in Sri Lanka are doing with the help of your donations. Thanks to your generosity, scholarships have now been provided for 42 underprivileged children which is supporting their education in schools and universities.

New garden project!
To extend the support so that it can benefit them long term we initiated a project which involves Ayurveda and we hope can provide both work and income for them.

Upeksha's medicinal garden:
One of the students who thanks to your scholarships graduated from uni with a degree in agriculture - has been able to advise and help them do this.

In such a short space of time, these young children and their families have already done an amazing job growing many herbs. The enthusiasm and commitment with which they have undertaken this project has really warmed our hearts.

Dr Deepika and Geoff have pledged to give a prize to the student who creates the best garden - a new computer to help them with their education!

Dilaj's medicine garden:
