How the 2020 Season Will Work
Our goal is always to start our season as early as possible and run as late into winter as possible.
We normally start with fresh Asparagus in early to mid April.
We will deliver our weekly boxes of freshly harvested, locally grown produce either on a Monday or Wednesday. Please specify your preferred day on your enrollment form.
Each week, we'll deliver straight to your office, home or a designated pickup location of your choice. We have a pickup location in Dresden and can work with you for other pickup locations if necessary.
The contents of the farm box will vary each week and on average will feed 2 to 3 people. Some weeks will be more abundant than others depending on the season.
For example, early in the season the farm box will be smaller than during the peak of harvest. Some produce, like different varieties of tomatoes or peppers, will appear in your farm box frequently while others will appear briefly or even only once.
Each year is different and crops do sometimes fail. Temperatures (hot or cold), hail, winds and excessive rainfall or drought can all cause crop failure. The majority of our crops will be irrigated, however nothing in life is certain. Becoming a Harvest Partner means experiencing the rewards of a bumper crop and the risk of crop failure with your farmer.
We run about a 25 week season taking a mid season break around early to mid August and returning in mid September while we prep and plant our fall crops. This is subject to change and to be used as a general guide.
Some crops like Asparagus start coming in around mid March to mid April along with other possibilities. Be sure to sign up early so you can start receiving those early harvests!
We understand some Harvest Partners do not check email frequently and to solve for that there will be an option on the enrollment form to receive paper copies of our newsletter or to go paperless.
Every season is different and has its own ups and downs I hope you will consider spending it with us!
We encourage you to let us know if there is anything you would like us to try growing in addition to our general variety list that you can find linked in the next below. If there is a specific variety you are looking for please ask and we will research and try growing it
