Case Study: Theia’s ML610M Enables Deep Learning OCR

To build a high-precision industrial OCR system, The Imaging Source combined Theia Technologies’ ML610M varifocal lens with their DFK 33UX178 camera and Zebra Technologies' Aurora Vision Studio Deep Learning OCR tool. This combination delivered fast, reliable character recognition at close range, powering Aurora’s AI-driven OCR to achieve high confidence scores with minimal tuning. Follow below to get the whole story...

Theia's 2/3" Varifocal 4K Lens, ML610M

Theia’s ML610M 4K varifocal lens delivers ultra-high resolution in a compact, rugged design. With a 6–10 mm focal range, the lens is NIR corrected to deliver 300 lp/mm resolution from 430 to 940nm, to ensure sharp, consistent imaging across sensor sizes up to 2/3". Resistant to vibration from 20–200 Hz at 10 G per axis, the ML610M is ideal for OCR, quality inspection, robotics, AMRs and other precision machine vision applications.
