Dear Friend of JDRC,
Since its establishment in 1996, the Jewish Deaf Resource Center (JDRC) has been leading efforts to ensure full inclusion of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals in Jewish spaces. As bridge builders, we partner with synagogues, schools, and organizations to help locate interpreters and captioners, provide guidance on accessibility, and share resources that foster meaningful engagement in Jewish life for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals.
As the demand for qualified interpreters and captioners in Jewish settings grows, so does our need for generous support. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in fostering inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring that no individual is left on the margins of our community.
Your donation will help JDRC:
- Train more Deaf and Hearing American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters to translate Jewish liturgical texts and terminology into ASL.
- Train, and subsequently certify, captioners on transcribing Jewish texts and understanding Hebrew terminology.
- Advocate for systemic change within Jewish institutions to ensure that all resources are accessible at the project's initial concept.
Please join us in supporting JDRC this year in your annual gift during the High Holidays. Your gift will help us continue to build a future where access to the Jewish world is a right, not a privilege, for all Deaf and Hard of Hearing Jewish individuals. Your generosity will help us continue to build a truly inclusive Jewish community where everyone feels welcome, seen, and heard.
We thank you for your generosity and for being a part of the JDRC community.
May you and your loved ones be blessed with a New Year filled with peace, joy, fulfillment, and accessibility.
G'mar chatimah tovah,
