Garden Work Day

This week is our Garden Work Day!

Thank you to everyone who has already signed up. If anyone else wants to join us on Friday, August 26th, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. for our Garden Work Day, please RSVP to volunteer by clicking here.

You are welcome to come for all or part of the time. We will primarily be pulling weeds and amending the soil. No experience necessary!

Some garden tools are available, but we encourage you to bring your own (gloves and hand tools.) We will meet at the school gardens - located behind the Early Years building at the base of the upper meadow. Light refreshments will be provided.

Thank you and we hope to see you there!

Carpool Reminders

  • K-8 morning carpool ends at 8:30 a.m.. If you arrive after 8:30 a.m., please check your child(ren) in at the Academic Office in the Early Years building.
  • Pre-K Rooster drop-offs between 8:30-8:45 a.m. need to be walked into the Rooster room.
  • Regular Pre-K drop-off begins at 8:45 a.m. and ends at 9:00 a.m. If you arrive after 9:00 a.m., please check your child(ren) in at the Academic Office in Early Years building.
  • Please follow the directions of the person directing center traffic. If you are instructed to stop, please remain stopped and do not proceed until instructed to do so. Please do not speed up to make it through the center intersection. Everyone should be driving slow enough that you should not require time to stop.
  • If you need to check out your child, please do so prior to 2:30 p.m.
  • Please do not arrive prior to 3:00 p.m. Classes will still be moving from building to building during this time. Early arrivals not only pose many safety issues and concerns, but blocking traffic also hinders maneuverability in and around campus (for instance, deliveries, parents, volunteers, and staff who need access to their car to leave). It also blocks public traffic on Willeo Rd. Access to and around our campus must be kept accessible as mandated by the Fire Marshall.

Back-to-School Nights - Save the Dates!

Please join us for Back to School Night. We will begin both evenings by gathering in the Community Center. Then you will have an opportunity to join teachers in their classrooms to learn more about the ins and outs of your child's particular classes. You'll learn everything from class routines and schedules to volunteer opportunities. You will leave the night well informed and connected to others. See you there!

When:

Lower Years - Thursday, September 1 at 6:00 p.m.

Middle Years - Wednesday, September 7 at 6:00 p.m.

HMS Scarecrow- Volunteers Needed

Each year, we have a scarecrow on Canton St. (downtown Roswell) during the month of October and we are in need of volunteers to create the 2022 HMS Scarecrow. We have claimed a great spot in front of Roswell Provisions (#89 on the map), but we now need a group to take on this project. Does this sound like something you'd be interested in? If so, please email Angela Lockard and let her know.

Scarecrow installations will take place the last week of September and remain up throughout October.

The High Meadows Phone App Helps You Stay Connected

How to the find the App:

In the app store, search for High Meadows School and download. Please say YES to receiving notifications through this app. The notifications feature will only be used to send important announcements to all families at once.

Once downloaded, LOGIN using the main email address you provided to the school--it will be the one we typically use to communicate with you.

After login, you will see two directories appear: Staff and Parent. These directories are not accessible without being logged in.

Exploring the App Tiles:

Parents: Each parent has his/her own listing with their current student(s) name, grade, and homeroom. The contact information displays the address, email, and cell of each parent (excluding those who have opted out of being listed in the directory). You can call or email directly from the app and you can also save the parent as a contact in your phone.

Staff: All HMS employees are listed with their email addresses. You can directly email a staff member or add the email to your contacts.

Calendar: Click on the items that interest you and save the dates to your personal phone calendar. It will remind you when and where you have school appointments.

Social Icons: Clicking on the icons will take you directly to the corresponding social media account.

Support: Takes you directly to our online giving page, allowing immediate access to make your High Meadows Fund pledge or payment for the year.

Contact: Call the main number directly from here or click on the address to open a map that gives step-by-step directions to our campus.
