Council Approves 2023 Budget

With 2.2% Tax Increase

  • At their February 13, 2023 meeting Council approved the 2023 Municipal budget with a 2.2% tax increase and a 0.5% increase to utility rates
  • Council has approved a transfer from the Town’s ‘Tax Stabilization Fund’ to cover projected spending in the amount of $320,000
  • This helped ensure a low increase after three years of holding the line with no tax increases.
  • The fund was created with funds remaining from $4.3 million in government support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Community Volunteer Income Tax Program

Tax season is coming, and the Community Volunteer Income Tax program is returning. Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) will be hosting a free tax filing service for individuals and families with simple personal tax situations.


  • When: March 1, 2023 - April 24, 2023, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Location: FCSS, located at the former Culture Centre, 251 9 Avenue S.W. next to the Charles Clark Medical Centre - Health Clinic
  • Cost: Free - Qualifications and income limits will apply

Policing Priorities Survey Deadline February 28

High River RCMP want to hear from YOU and are asking for public input on policing priorities.


The 2023 Community Survey asks for three things:

  1. Your perceptions of last year
  2. How you feel about safety and crime in High River
  3. Your priorities for 2023


Take the survey now! Deadline is February 28


Results will also be shared with Town Bylaw Enforcement.
