Council Meetings

  • Committee of the Whole – 1:00 p.m. 
  • Organizational Meeting – 3:00 p.m. 
  • Regular Council Meeting – 3:30 p.m. Please note the Regular Council Meeting will start as soon as the Organizational Meeting is completed and may start before 3:30 p.m.

Remembrance Day Facility Closures

Town of High River facilities will be closed for Remembrance Day on November 11.  


  • These closures include the Town Office, Family and Community Support Services, Family Centre, Public Works, Bylaw/Municipal Enforcement, Recycling Centre, and the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex. 
  • Essential Services such as the Fire Department and RCMP will remain open.  
  • In an emergency, always call 9-1-1. 
  • All facilities and the Recycling Centre will be open with regular hours on Tuesday, September 6.

Remembrance Day Garbage Collection

On November 11, in observance of Remembrance Day, changes will occur to the residential garbage collection schedule.  



  • If your garbage is usually collected on Friday, please put it out on Thursday, November 10.  
  • All garbage for Thursday and Friday will take place on Thursday. 
  • Please have your bins out by 7:00 a.m. and leave them in place until collection occurs.

Seasonal RV Parking Restrictions

Begin October 30

On October 30, seasonal RV parking restrictions will come into effect as part of High River's Traffic Bylaw 4563/2019. 


  • Between October 30 and April 1, High River residents are encouraged to park their RVs within their property limits or use one of High River's RV storage lots.  
  • Residents parking their RV in front of their homes may result in enforcement action, including issuing a violation ticket.  
  • For more information on High River's Traffic Bylaw, please visit highriver.ca/news/rv-parking-restrictions

Free High River's Hallowe'en Events

Get into the Halloween spirit with High River's Family Halloween Boogie at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex!  


Family Halloween Boogie 

  • Friday, October 28, from 6 – 8 p.m.  
  • At the Cargill Field House. 
  • Photo booths, costume contests, games and more. 
  • Free to attend. Jumpstart & Food Bank donations will be accepted. 
  • Come boogie with us! 


Youth Be Active Halloween Dance 

  • Friday, October 28, from 8 – 10 p.m.  
  • 12 – 17 years old welcome.  
  • Free to attend.  
  • Dancing, scary movies, and prizes for best dressed.  
  • Jumpstart & Food Bank donations will be accepted.  

Sports Swap - Take it, or Leave it! 

  • The Sports Swap continues!
  • It was so fun during Health and Wellness Week this fall that we set up a wall to carry on this great initiative.
  • Please come by the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex to donate, or to pick up free gently used donated sports items.
