SENIOR INFORMATION

NC COUNTDOWN TO COLLEGE (C2C) COLLEGE APPLICATION WEEK - OCTOBER 20-26

CFNC-Countdown to College (C2C) is a year-long initiative to help high school seniors learn about their college enrollment steps: residency, financial aid, and college applications. Many North Carolina colleges and universities participate in C2C by waiving application fees during College Application Week, October 20-26, 2025.

While most applications may have multiple ways to apply (via Common App, CFNC, or direct to institution), the fee waiver is only guaranteed if you start with the CFNC application tool. You can also directly contact the college to ask them how you should apply to get the fee waiver.

Here’s the 2025 list of North Carolina colleges and universities that are waiving their application fees during CFNC College Application Week.

**Free Application week to University of Alabama AND University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) is October 6-10 this year.

NC COLLEGE CONNECT

NC College Connect is a program that provides a simpler and faster way to gain admittance to college in North Carolina.

Seniors at a North Carolina public high school with a weighted GPA of 2.8 or above who meet the NC College Connect requirements are automatically admitted to select North Carolina colleges and universities. All seniors need to do is submit a form to accept their admission. For more information, visit the link for NC College Connect.

FAFSA

The FAFSA IS OPEN! FAFSA is the form students and a parent/guardian need to fill out in order to be considered for federal and state financial aid each year to help make paying for college more manageable. Go to the FAFSA website to get started.

JUNIOR AND SENIOR INFORMATION

CPCC REMINDERS

Q2 classes start on October 20. Students should make sure they complete their EVA so they do not get dropped.

  1. Please make sure your student is checking in the Schoology CPCC Student Hub for updates and any to-do items that are listed. If your student is not part of the course, he/she should add it asap. Here is the code: J5FQ-PH3F-9P2DH.
  2. Each quarter, students will have a quarter check-in as well as a progress update that is mandatory for them to complete. Deadlines will be posted in the Schoology CPCC Student Hub.
  3. Q1 grades from CPCC will not be added to students' LNC transcript until January. If they need to send Q1 CPCC grades to a college, they will need to send via their "mycollege" for an unofficial transcript, or if they need an official, they will need to send via national student clearinghouse

If you have questions, you can contact Christine Casillas at ccasillas@lncharter.org.
