UNC SYSTEM VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE
October is NC Countdown to College month, and to aid students in making a decision for college, the UNC System is hosting its fifth annual Virtual Open House for prospective students, families and high school counselors to learn more about the 16 UNC System universities.
During the weeks of October 7 & 14, 2024 a series of four virtual sessions will be hosted via Zoom Webinar. Admissions Counselors from each institution will share helpful information about the admissions process and current students from each university will share about their college experience and answer your questions live. If you are a rising high school junior, senior, early or middle college student (first-year), this event is for you!
Each Virtual Open House session will be recorded and posted below after the event takes place. Register here for the Virtual Open House!
NAVIANCE PARENT INFORMATION SESSION AND TRAINING
Join Ms. Casillas for this informative, hands-on workshop on October 8 at 8:15am in the HS MPR.
SAT/ACT CONCORDANCE TABLE
The concordance study between ACT and SAT scores helps students and colleges understand how scores from one test relate to scores from the other. Instead of equating scores directly, the tables provide a way to compare performance levels across both assessments. This can assist students in interpreting their scores and making informed decisions about college admission

GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL INFORMATION
Is your child interested in Governor’s School? Applications are available online now. Eleventh graders can apply for all academic and arts areas. Tenth graders can apply in arts-dance, choral music, and instrumental music areas only. There will be an informational meeting for students only later in October.
NC Governor's School Information: "The North Carolina Governor's School is a four-week summer residential program for gifted and talented high school students, integrating academic disciplines, the arts, and unique courses on each of two campuses. Learning focuses on the exploration of the most recent ideas and concepts in each discipline, and it does not involve credit, tests, or grades. Students are selected to attend through a competitive process after being nominated by their public school unit or non-public school."
