Radio Broadcasting

Happy New Year from KVCB LP 100.3 FM.! After a great Christmas break we are ready to produce more programming for the New Year.

Our newscasts will continue starting January 16th Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 8;50, 9:10, 11:45, and Noon and 8:30, 11:50 am on Wednesdays. The newscasts will feature positive and local news, arts, weather and sports, plus a Bible verse and The National Day.

We plan to produce two radio dramas with the dates TBA. One drama is based upon a children's short story written by our Radio Conservatory Administrative Assistant Hannah Jamel.

VCS Radio students will enter The John Drury High School Radio Competition in May. The Drury Competition is hosted by North Central College and is named for WLS-TV

Chicago Anchorman John Drury. Our students will enter the categories of Best Newscast, Talk Show, Interview, and Radio Drama. The competition features high schools nationwide.

Senior Corner

Parents! We have entered into Deck the halls time. Now is the time to bring in all the gold Christmas decorations. Get in touch with the advisors about dropping off decor! Students can decorate before school, after school, and during lunch.

Parent Service Hours

ALL FORMS DUE NO LATER THAN May 15, 2024 Your account will be billed $35 per incomplete hour in June 2024. A $75 late fee will be charged for all forms turned in after May 15, 2024.

More information can be found on the form. Please pick up a form from the admissions office. Please complete it and return it to the admissions office when completed. We do not have any forms in the high school, nor will we be accepting forms once completed.

Absent / Tardy Procedure & Policy

The HS office will no longer be taking phone calls for absences. All absences/Tardies must be reported to this email address [email protected]

"As a reminder, an absence/tardy that is not excused by a parent within three days of the student's return to school will be counted as an unexcused absence and shall be treated as such. "

All communication of absences/tardies will be received only through the absence email provided above.

We will need the following:

Students name
The Date of Absence/Tardy
The Reason for Absence/Tardy

Missing Classes

As a reminder, only twelve (12) class periods may be missed in a course per semester in order for a student to earn credits for the semester. If there are extraordinary circumstances or illnesses, please contact the HS administration. If your student needs to make up class hours due to additional absences, contact HS Admin to make a plan.

Athlete Rule:

If a student misses more than 2 periods on a game day, then that student can not participate in the game. If the student is a senior and only has 5 periods, they can miss no more than one (1) period on game days in order to participate.
