Parent Volunteer Process

We want to sincerely thank all of our VCS parents for your patience, diligence, and commitment as you complete the new California requirements for volunteering at schools.

Under the new requirements, all volunteers working with students must complete Live Scan fingerprinting and mandated reporter certification. We know this process takes extra time and effort, and we truly appreciate your willingness to complete these steps to help keep our students safe.

Below you will find the Live Scan/Fingerprinting Form to take to Better Bookkeepers, our Live Scan provider, along with the How to Become an Approved VCS Volunteer guide.

Already have a current Mandated Reporter Certification? Please email a copy to the office at the VCS campus your student attends.

How to Become a Volunteer

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Dear VCS Families,

We’re preparing to launch a new Parent Portal where families can set lunch spending limits and submit planned absence notifications. These notifications will go directly to your school’s front office, and you’ll receive an email once they have been reviewed and processed.

A small group of parents are testing the portal before we make it available schoolwide. Changes to PowerSchool this summer affected features that previously worked, including lunch limits. Switzer Enterprises has been helping us develop a solution, and we’ll share access instructions once testing is complete.

Help Us Keep Our Classrooms Stocked!

As we move into the school year, we are looking to replenish some classroom essentials. We are kindly asking families who are able to donate Clorox wipes and tissues to help keep our classrooms clean, healthy, and well-stocked.

Any donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated and helps support our students and teachers. Thank you for partnering with us and helping keep our VCS community cared for!
