Dear Vacaville Christian High School,

Athletics at VCS

Athletics are an important and essential part of the VCS program. We are grateful for the way athletics help students grow in discipline, teamwork, perseverance, leadership, and character. We are also proud of the ways VCS helps prepare student-athletes who desire to pursue opportunities at the next level. I recently sat down with our Athletic Director, Mr. Jerry Miller, for a video podcast conversation about VCS athletics, college athletic opportunities, how the landscape has changed, and what students and parents should know. We also want to celebrate some special high school moments from the past couple of weeks. Prom was last weekend, and it was a meaningful and memorable evening for our students. Our seniors also recently returned from their senior trip, another important milestone as they prepare to finish their time at VCS. These moments remind us how quickly the high school years pass and how grateful we are to walk alongside our students and families in this season.

Next Week's Final Schedule:

Monday: Memorial Day (Campus Closed)
Tuesday: Final 3 at 8:00 am. Final 4 at 10:00 am. (Minimum Day)
Wednesday: Final 5 at 8:00 am. Final 6 at 10:00 am. (Minimum Day)
Thursday: Final 7 at 8:00 am, (Released at 9:45 for the day). Makeup finals will be at 10:00 am. Graduation at 7:00 pm.

High School Building Access Reminder

For the safety and well-being of all students, we kindly ask for your attention to the following building access expectations. When the high school office closes and the building is locked at 4:00 PM each day, all students are required to exit the building. Students may not remain inside unless they are under direct supervision.

Please also note that on Wednesday, May 13, the high school building will close early at 2:15 PM due to an all-school staff meeting. At that time, no students will be permitted to remain in or re-enter the building.

We appreciate your partnership in helping us maintain a safe and well-supervised environment for all students. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Absences

A student will not receive credit in a course in which he/she has exceeded *twelve absences (12) in a semester, excused and unexcused combined. This includes absences for medical appointments and illnesses. In such cases, credit recovery will be required. This recovery may be in the form of Saturday school or other after-school hours.
