The Danger of Social Media Chapel

With the many dangers in the world of social media, it is important that we educate ourselves regarding keeping our students safe. Because we wish to partner with you in this regard, we would like to invite our parents to chapel next Wednesday, March 22nd, to hear a presentation by Detective King from the Vacaville Police Department. Chapel is from 9:30-10:30 AM. There will be time for parents to ask questions of the detective after the presentation. We hope to see many of you there to learn more about this very important topic.

Symphony

It was so exciting to be able to hear our Conservatory students showcasing their talents and hard work at the Vacaville Performing Arts Center this week. They did an amazing job at the concert. We are very proud of these musicians and the work they and Miss Knitter have put into preparing for this performance.

School Supply Needs

We greatly appreciated the donations of facial tissue a few months back. We have exhausted our supply and are in need of more tissue boxes. If you are able to donate tissues to the office so we can restock the classrooms, we would be most grateful. Thank you so much for your support!

Reminders

Prom Tickets

Prom tickets will be on sale next week starting March 20th. Tickets will be $100 with a capacity of 150 participants. Tickets will begin on Monday for Seniors, Tuesday for Juniors, Wednesday for Sophomores, Thursday for Freshmen, and Friday for Guests.

Makeup Test & Tutoring Lab Days

The CRC is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:00-4:00 pm for students to work on assignments, makeup tests/quizzes due to absences, or for studying. Please utilize these times and this space as needed.

PowerSchool Updates

Parents, please contact our Registrar to update any changes in your contact information (emails, phone numbers, and/or addresses) if those things have changed during the year.

Missing Classes

As a reminder, only twelve (12) class periods may be missed in a course per semester in order for a student to earn credits for the semester. If there are extraordinary circumstances or illnesses, please contact the HS administration. If your student needs to make up class hours due to additional absences, contact HS Admin to make a plan.

Men's Wearhouse has generously offered VCHS participation in a cash-back fundraiser program for each tuxedo rented from their company utilized for VCHS prom. So, as we enter into prom season, please consider Men's Warehouse as an option for your attire.

Student Spotlight

Congratulations to Aaron Jesinger and Bryce Linton for being selected for Boys State! This is a nationwide program that allows selected students to experience what it is like to live and work in a real-life government setting with other students from across the country for a whole week. Many national leaders have participated in this elite program. We are excited for Bryce and Aaron and the doors this could open for their future.
