Why do I have a balance due on my Self Service account?
HS Programs students may have a balance due for a number of reasons. The most common causes are…
First Day Access fees for digital course materials/textbooks.
A student has registered for an ineligible course. Only courses from the following state-approved categories are eligible for the ACC Dual Credit program tuition waiver: (1) courses on the ACC Core Curriculum, (2) foreign language courses (to include ASL), and (3) courses that are part of a Workforce certificate or AAS degree plan.
A student has used all of their allotted Dual Credit program tuition waivers.
Dual Credit students receive twelve (12) total tuition waivers to use towards eligible courses. Once a student has utilized all of their allotted waivers, then tuition & fees is due for any additional coursework and based on residential address on file with the Admissions & Records office. Reminder: courses dropped after the Add/Drop Schedule Change period of the teaching Session and Withdrawals (W’s) count as a tuition waiver used.
First Class Day & First Week Tips:
-Make sure that you have your ACC eID account information hand (username/password)
-Ensure that you have activated and are checking your student ACCmail account consistently. Get in the habit of checking your ACCmail at least once daily, if not more!
-Login and familiarize yourself with Blackboard, which is ACC’s course management utility. Your professor(s) will use Blackboard for their course(s) to post announcements, important documents, assignments, and even potentially for completing/submitting discussion boards, quizzes, and exams
-Rent or purchase your required textbook(s) for your course(s) and be ready to go from day one.
-Double-check your student Self Service account to make sure you are actually enrolled in your class(es) and print out a copy of your class schedule, if needed.
