Summer Self-Care!
What is self care for students?
Self-care refers to activities and practices that can help you to reduce your stress and enhance your overall well-being: essentially, proactively taking care of yourself. Self-care is essential in order to be successful inside and outside of the classroom.

Why is self care important for college students?
Self-care can be critical for student mental health. It ensures they are taking time to focus on their needs, ranging from staying healthy to finding time for relaxation and enjoyable activities.

How can college students practice self care?
8 Quick Self-Care Strategies for College Students
  1. Sleep. Remember, your body needs 6-8 hours of sleep to function properly.
  2. Eat healthy and balanced meals.
  3. Exercise.
  4. Take breaks to refuel.
  5. Journal.
  6. Meditate and practice relaxation techniques.
  7. Set realistic goals for yourself.
  8. Get support from relationships.

Why is self care important for students?
It is a special time when you can allow yourself to relax, be stress-free, and have a nurturing experience of life. It is important to have self-care time in your life because it helps to increase the level of energy, mood, and decrease the level of stress and anxiety. Self-care helps to avoid “burn-out” moments

Fall 2021 Dual Credit/ECHS Courses...UPDATE/CORRECTION
Update/Correction:

For Fall 2021, ACC will fully reopen all campuses this fall with options for all students. What does this mean for our students, parents, high school staff and faculty? Dual Credit and Early College High School class sections will be taught in person at high schools and at ACC campus locations where classes are scheduled. However, the college will continue to offer four ways to learn at ACC campus locations and online, including:

Asynchronous online classes | Classes are completed fully online whenever it’s convenient.

Synchronous scheduled online classes | Classes happen online at set times for live, virtual learning.

In-person classes | Meet on campus at set dates/times for in-person learning.

Hybrid classes | Meet online at set dates/times for lecture and visit campus for hands-on learning.

We are still actively working on this transition piece in our course schedule and should be fully updated in the coming weeks. ACC, as a whole, is being very systematic in its approach to all aspects of our return to campus. This includes our return to our High School campuses. We appreciate your patience and flexibility.
