I withdrew from a course...what’s next?
Withdrawing from an ACC course can have an impact on both your high school and college transcript, so it is important that you follow the steps below after you withdraw.

Step 1: Let your high school counselor know that you have withdrawn from a course. If the course was also a high school graduation requirement, you may need to be enrolled in another course at your high school to ensure you get the credit for graduation.

Step 2: Meet with your High School Programs Academic Success Coordinator. During this meeting, your Academic Success Coordinator can go over:
  • Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and the potential financial aid ramifications of withdrawing from a course
  • The effects of withdrawing on the completion of your goals (especially if you are planning to complete your associate's degree or Level 1 certification while in high school)
  • How withdrawing affects your tuition waivers
  • Options like retaking the course at a later time

You can find the Academic Success Coordinator for your high school here:

Looking to Summer: Reminders about Available ACC Support Resources!
As we wrap up the spring semester and look towards another virtual semester, we wanted to remind you of the resources available to your dual credit or Early College High School student. Your student’s Academic Success Coordinator is here to act as a point of contact for any support your student may need and can assist with general advising and connecting your student with ACC resources. Your student can find their assigned Academic Success Coordinator’s contact information under “My Advisors” in their MyACC portal.

Along with the Academic Success team, ACC has several supports in place to ensure your student is able to balance their high school and college responsibilities in this environment. Please see below for some common issues and the departments that can assist:

Is your student struggling with time management?
Make an appointment with an Academic Coach here: Make an Academic Coaching Appointment. You can also find resources on time management, note-taking, and other strategies for academic success here: Academic Coaching Resources

Is your student having trouble understanding the material they’re learning?
Office hours are a great place to ask questions about course content. Your student’s professor’s office hours should be listed in their syllabus.
Students can also use ACC’s virtual tutoring for additional help with course concepts. You can make a virtual appointment here: Make a Tutoring Appointment

Is your student feeling overwhelmed or anxious?
If your student needs someone to talk to, ACC’s counseling services are here to listen. Your student can request a counseling appointment here: ACC Counseling Services
