- Player(s) your most excited for this season?
- Caleigh Eubanks, Midfield/Draw, Junior- Caleigh led the team in almost every category last season. She’s come back stronger with a higher lax IQ.
- Morgan Coleman, Midfield/Draw, Junior- Morgan’s been working hard on her draw technique, which is a really important skill set in this game. She’ll be a playmaker on offense this year.
- Alaina Garcia, Goalie, Junior- Alaina stepped up last season when our goalkeeper went out with an injury. She’s learned the position quickly and has been stepping up as a leader for our defense.
- Audrey Ubernosky, Midfield/Attack, Junior- This kid has been working hard in the offseason! We’ve seen her confidence grow and I know she will be a threat on the attack.
- Olivia Morgan, Midfield, Freshman- You wouldn’t know Olivia’s only been playing a few weeks if you see her at practice. She’s a great athlete and we’re looking forward to seeing her on the field.
-
2021 season record and anything you want to highlight from 2021:
- We were 3-7 last year with two wins against our rival South Effingham and another against Savannah Christian. We lost in the first round of the playoffs to Northview.
- 2022 schedule and a game to highlight
- See attached schedule
- Grovetown 3/9 @ Home
- Is it a young team? Senior dominated?
- We have a strong junior class this year. There’s a lot of leaders in that group who want to compete and want to see this program grow!
- What is your strongest position and/or team strength?
- Midfield is our strongest position. We have a number of girls who are comfortable on either side of the restraining line.
- Anything else would like to add or say:
- We’re looking forward to a healthy and competitive season! Go Rebels!
- Coach’s highlight:
- This is my second year at Effingham and first as head coach. I played at North Rockland High School (NY) and graduated in 2012. I played my freshman year at LIU, I transferred and continued playing at Dominican College ‘17. I had a great opportunity to go back and coach at North Rockland after graduation. As one of the assistant coaches, I was able to be a part of NR’s 2nd run to the New York state semifinals in 2018 and state quarterfinals in 2019.
- Jane Trzaska is our assistant coach, she’s been with the program for the last three years. Lacrosse isn’t an easy sport to pick up if you’ve never played and Jane has become a natural. She’s a great coach and friend, we are lucky to have her!
