Dear School District of Wisconsin Dells Community Members,

Please take a moment to review this month’s edition of our e-newsletter. District officials have put together a variety of articles to keep our district’s constituents up-to-date on a variety of topics at all levels of our schools. If you need additional information, please do not hesitate to reach out to acquire more details. Thank you!

Dear Parents & Caregivers,

As you know the first week of April is devoted to a later than usual spring break. Students, enjoy your week off! Following the return of students and staff from a week-long spring break, there will be only 39 days remaining in the current school year. Barring any unforeseen weather, the last school day remains as Friday, June 2, 2023. More details will be shared as we enter the month of May.

Following our return from break, I continue to encourage good attendance patterns and students being fully engaged in the learning process. Now is the time to increase focus on finishing this school year on a positive note. Giving your best effort and digging a little deeper on those days where you may not be at your best are vital to finishing the school year with a successful end.

Additionally, following our return from break we will push out summer school information for families interested in having students attend. This summer’s session will run from Monday, July 10^th to Thursday, August 3^rd. The schedule is a half day schedule and runs Monday through Thursday. Summer school programming is always high-interest subjects and is a great way to get a jump start on the 2023-24 school year!

Inaugural WDHS Firefighter Class

Congratulations to the ten WDHS students who successfully completed the entry level firefighter class on March 15. Parents and administrators were able to attend and witness the graduation event. These students have spent two Wednesdays a month with instructor Darren Jorgenson with textbook learning and hands-on training. Tips for Parents: Healthy Social Media Use

1.Understand the apps. What was true two years ago is no longer the case. Download the apps yourself and understand how they work. The apps and their algorithms are stronger than our will, and understanding how they work can help parents create sensible limits.

Preschool Matters

On Wednesday, April 12th the School District of Wisconsin Dells will host its 4K registration at the Wisconsin Dells High School. Here are the top 5 reasons to make sure to register your child for 4K for the upcoming school year.

State Assessment Schedule and Updates

Although we are well into and through many of the State Assessments, please be aware of any upcoming assessments that your child may be participating in. State assessments are important as they are used as a way to gage student progress towards proficiency in state standards and gives our schools program-wide data to helps shape achievement goals and programming.

Spring Sports and the WDEF Team Up

Spring Sports and the Wisconsin Dells Education Foundation are teaming up to raise money for their programs and scholarships in the Wisconsin Dells School District. Athletes are selling Kalahari Resort Waterpark and Theme Park All-Day Combo Passes. The retail value of a pass is $59 and they are being sold for only $20. Pictured above are representatives Track and Field. The WDHS Baseball team are selling the passes as well. Thank you for supporting our student athletes and graduating senior students.
