Dear CUSD Family,

Thank you for participating in Higher Education Week which took place from September 23-27. Theme: Proud to be College Bound. Please enjoy the great art work from Mrs. Maria Escobar’s class of 2030 from Rockwood Elementary School.

Congratulations to Mains Elementary School & Blanche Charles Elementary School in being recognized for having the highest attendance rates for the 2018-19 School Year. Attention2Attendance (A2A) awarded both sites with an achievement award at the Board Meeting of September 19th, 2019.

Our CHS Girls Tennis Team is doing a great job in representing CUSD!! They are currently in 2nd place in league!! We're looking forward to seeing them in action. Please come out and support them at their following home games:

October 16th vs. Central

Measure V Update
We are happy to inform that Measure V’s Project B-1, also known as the Culinary Arts Academy Modernization Project is coming along great. The electrical composition of the building is ready and inside walls will start going up very soon. So far progress is on time, which makes it all the more exciting to look forward to.

Expanded Learning (ASES/ASSETs)
Did you know that we are the only district in Imperial County that receives funds for after school programs at the high school level?

Both Aurora and Calexico High School were awarded the 21st Century After School Safety & Enrichment for Teens (ASSETs) grant to offer tutoring, enrichment activities, and family literacy.

To learn what specific activities are offered at each site, stop by the cafeteria at Aurora and the library at CHS and speak to our staff after school. Programs are available on all school days.
