First Monthly Meeting of the New Year

We hope you'll join us for our first monthly meeting of 2026. It will be held on Wednesday, January 28, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. The meeting is open to the public, plus you could win a gift card to a new Highlands’ business for attending. The agenda is below.

On the Agenda:


  • District 8 Louisville Metro Council Member Ben Reno-Weber with an update on happenings in the Highlands.


  • LMPD Fifth District Resource Officer John Keeling with the latest on crime reports.


  • Brandon Coan, Community Engagement Representative for Branch Properties and the Mid City Mall project, will share plans for feedback about the development. Branch Properties is the development partner in a joint venture with the Metts family to reinvest in the Mid City Mall project.


  • Erika Brown, Ignite Communications, will talk about Highland Commerce Guild’s membership drive, available sponsorships, and rebranding campaign—All Members and Stakeholders are encouraged to attend.

Save the Date for the 8th Annual A Taste of the Highlands! It's a Mardi Gras–inspired tasting event featuring delicious food from more than a dozen Highlands restaurants, local beer, wine, and spirits, plus live jazz to benefit those in need in our community.


The fun and festive event will be held on Fat Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the Highlands Community Ministries campus (1228 E. Breckinridge St.).
