President's Welcome

Now is the time to re-connect with classmates- we have 11 Reunions scheduled for the Fall and several in the Spring.

Now is the time to support cherished traditions- attend an HPHS sporting event, school play, or alumni event.
Now is the time to celebrate what it means to be a Scot- honor fellow HP grads by nominating someone for the Distinguished Alumni Awards.

Join the Highland Park Alumni Association or renew your membership today, and be a part of the excitement that comes from supporting one of the most tradition-rich high schools in America. It will be a busy year with alums gathering from near and far, and we want you to stay informed!

Please follow us on social media, submit news stories to our monthly eNewsletter or Scot Times, and attend alumni events.

We are all proud to be Highland Park Scots. Let's make it a great year! Remember...Once a Scot, Always a Scot!

Alumni News
Don Iglehart '39 Turns 100!
On August 24, family, friends, and neighbors gathered at the home of Don Iglehart to celebrate his 100th birthday!

Don is currently our oldest, local alumnus and for his birthday, his special request was to hear from the HPHS Drumline and Lads and Lassies. Boy, did they deliver! Don was quite moved and we are proud of the HPHS students for making his birthday wish come true.

We are thankful to celebrate milestones with our alums and current students!
Congrats to Scottie Scheffler '14 on his rookie debut as a member of the 2021 Ryder cup team!
Way to go to Cy McCullough '17 on being named Captain of the 2021 Sewanee University football team! Two weeks ago, he had three touchdown receptions in his conference game.
Cy is the son of Terry and Mike McCullough '85.
Special Thanks to
Foundation and Alumni Board Presidents
The Highland Park Education Foundation and Highland Park High School Alumni Association
hosted a joint board meeting in August at the Dallas Country Club. At this meeting, board members were given an overview of the year and heard from various speakers, including Senior Class President, Ava Tiffany, who talked about her HPISD experience.

We had the opportunity to express our gratitude and appreciation to HPHS Alumni President Jack Myers '62 and HPEF Board President Dallas Cothrum '88 for their service as board presidents. Their dedication and leadership over the past two years was instrumental for the Foundation. We thank you!

Ways to Give

The Highland Park Education Foundation (HPEF) announced a gift of $100,000 from La Fiesta de las Seis Banderas.

This generous donation will establish the “La Fiesta de las Seis Banderas Legacy Fund,” a new type of endowed fund in HPEF’s Tartan Endowment.

Legacy Funds are unrestricted, allowing them to be utilized to meet the most pressing needs of Highland Park Independent School District (HPISD). This is one of the first Legacy Funds to be established.

Thank you La Fiesta!
The 2020 La Fiesta co-chairs, Mary Deaver and Fran Matise, recognized the opportunity to expand La Fiesta’s tradition of giving for both current and future HPISD students, “With our new Legacy Fund, we are honored to make a gift that will continue HPISD’s tradition of excellence in education no matter how the landscape of our District evolves over time.”

Highland Park Class of 1961

The Highland Park Education Foundation also announced a gift of $25,061 from the Highland Park High School Class of 1961. This generous donation will establish the “Class of 1961 Scholarship,” an endowed fund in HPEF’s Tartan Endowment. The scholarship will support graduating HPHS seniors who exhibit significant financial need in pursuit of a four-year degree.

Thank you 1961 class members for your generous support!
