Highlander Families,
We started the week led by Commander Ballister with JROTC cadets and Mr Wightman with our LHHS Band as we honored those that gave their lives on 9/11 with our Flag Raising Ceremony.
Thank you to our families for participating in ELAC and Cafecito con el Director (Coffee with the Principal) and our Ag Back to School led by Mr McDermott and Ms Adams.
HiStep, Link Crew, and ASB ended the week building connections with our students by celebrating their Perfect Attendance (for students in HiStep) with donuts, hosting our annual Club Rush Week in Senior Park, and celebrated the start of the weekend with a tailgate before Friday's football game for all students.
This coming week many of our athletic programs complete their preseason schedules before the start of Freeway League competition
Progress reports are due this week. Please review your child's academic progress through AERIES Parent Portal.
We are the Highlanders!

Dear FJUHSD Community,
It’s great to see students back on campus and fully participating in the many offerings across each school site. We jumped into the 2022/23 school year by welcoming over 13,000 students and 1,150 staff members back to campus. As we move into the school year, we are excited to watch as students explore and experience the quality education that the FJUHSD team of educators afford them.
I want to thank our parents for attending Back to School Night at the sites and being engaged in the success and education of their children. Our work together requires collaboration and a shared vision of seeing our students achieve. Under the leadership of the Board of Trustees, FJUHSD has strengthened its commitment to academic excellence by building a network of programs and services to meet each students’ unique academic, social, and emotional needs.
This month we are celebrating the incredible community partners we have the good fortune to collaborate with throughout the year. These partnerships include five Rotarys from Buena Park, Fullerton, and La Habra, Fullerton and La Habra Collaboratives, Fullerton’s Love of OC Kids (FLOCK), Advance! on to College, Assistance League of Fullerton, and many others. We are excited to recognize our tremendous partnerships at our upcoming Board Meeting on September 13.
We look forward to entering the new year committed to supporting our students and working hard to ensure their success. Together We Are FJUHSD!
Steve McLaughlin, Ed.D.
