An Increasing Number of Clinical Trials Are Using PARP Inhibitors to Kill Cancer Cells

What are PARPs? PARP is a protein involved in cellular growth, regulation, and cell repair. It works to repair damaged DNA in a cell and helps cancer cells survive.   What are PARP Inhibitors? PARP inhibitors block the PARP protein’s ability to repair DNA damage, which leads to death of cancer cells.   Are You a Candidate for a PARP Inhibitor Clinical Trial? Genetic testing is needed for patients to see if they have gene mutations, such as BRCA-1, BRCA-2, and ATM, to be considered a candidate for PARP inhibitor therapies.  A clinical trial could be your best treatment option.
