STEM Activities for DiscoverU
STEM educators gathered at Tukwila Community Center a couple weeks ago to brainstorm DiscoverU activities relat ed to STEM fields, such as ecology and engineering.  Their contributions will help increase classroom-career connections (the theme for Thursday during DiscoverU week) so students can have real-world examples of how what they learn in school applies to a variety of careers.  Thank you to those who joined us! The activities from this session are now available
on the DiscoverU website, visit the link below to check them out.
Federal Way DiscoverU Planning Guide
Federal Way Public Schools has developed fantastic DiscoverU planning resources for their district. Their Planning Guide shows how DiscoverU aligns to their strategic plan goal: "Every scholar will successfully navigate the critical transitions in their schooling, and will graduate from high school ready for college, career, and postsecondary experiences."

The Guide outlines daily activities there whole district will be participating in and provides elementary, middle and high school activities for schools to implement. They've also made DiscoverU flyers in English and Spanish that promote their Life After High School College and Career Fair and FAFSA/WASFA Workshops that are taking place during the week. We encourage you to checkout these resources as they may be useful to your district or organization as well!
