1 Awards Now Open     
FirstOntario's 1Awards competition, which is heading into its sixth year, is based on backing local businesses who make our communities unique. It's about building relationships and supporting their dreams of future success and continuing to put these business owners in the spotlight- with $150,000 in cash and in-kind services up for grabs for those seen as the best investment with community-focused plans.  Applications are now being accepted for local entrepreneurs in Hamilton, Burlington and Oakville, who want to pitch their ideas on how to take their business to the next level.  The winners receive cash and in-kind services to help them execute their award-winning plans and the awards are allocated based on each businesses' needs- valued at $150,000 this year.

Innovation Factory Upcoming Entrepreneur's Toolkit Training

Innovation Factory is pleased to bring back the MaRS Entrepreneur's Toolkit Training starting February 24. This round consists of three Marketing and Communications-themed sessions, four hours each, beginning Friday, February 24 and ending Friday, March 10. Training is from 9 am - 1 pm at Innovation Factory, and it promises mentoring and peer feedback to solve specific problems and develop essential business components.  In each four-hour session, participants will generate a deliverable to use frequently in their business development process. Topics include Identifying and Defining Your Target Audience, Evaluating Marketing and Communications Channels, and Communicating with Customers.
The training is $100, which is fully refundable for clients of the ONE Network who attend all three sessions. Please register using this link or contact for more information.
