Supporting our Lansing and Spartan Family

It’s heartbreaking to see that our Spartan community has been struck by an all-too-familiar act of senseless violence and unspeakable tragedy. Our hearts in Lansing are rooted deeply in the traditions and pride of the Green and White, and we all mourn.

Our sincerest thoughts and deepest condolences are with those directly impacted by this terrible event — students, families, friends and classmates.

Thousands gathered near The Rock, on the campus of MSU, for a candlelight vigil Wednesday, to honor the victims of the recent shooting tragedy. MHMG Lansing Hospice and Homecare were present to offer emotional support. Our social workers, nurses, physical therapists, account executives, along with family and friends, worked in conjunction with MSU Center for Survivors. We received a generous donation from Hyacinth House of carnations which were distributed at the vigil.

Additionally, we presented a floral arrangement to an MSU representative, to be placed in the MSU Union. Included were MHMG business cards, a green teddy bear, comfort doves, bereavement brochures and resources.

Our heartfelt gratitude to the first responders and medical professionals who put themselves on the frontlines in the most demanding of situations. Their selflessness and impact are felt in our community each and every day.
