Hello OLG Families,

Thank you for your participation in helping get our school underway. I know there is much excitement, and some trepidation, around our return to classes in the next few days.

IMPORTANT CHANGES

  • First All-School Mass changed to Tuesday, Sept 7th. Traditionally, we have a full Mass on the first day of school, but because of Fr. Kevin's absence, we will hold a simple prayer together in our classrooms at the beginning of the first day and our first full Mass will be the following Tuesday.
  • If you are planning to use EDC (Extended Day Care) K-8, click here for important updates: You must sign up in advance and at this time due to staffing, our hours are limited in K-8 EDC. We hope to hire more staff to expand our hours back to our previous full schedule.

REMINDERS
  • The first day is NOON Dismissal for all grades. K-8 students, please bring a snack. No after school care on the first day.
  • Out of state? Please continue to follow CDC travel requirements
  • For Unvaccinated Students Traveling in U.S.: "Get tested 3-5 days after your trip and stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel, even if your test is negative. If you don’t get tested, stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel."
  • For Fully Vaccinated Students Traveling in U.S.: "After Travel - Self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms; isolate and get tested if you develop symptoms."
  • If recent travel delays your student's start, please contact your homeroom teacher and the front office.
  • Uniform Expectations: As we are all returning to school, our uniform policy will be fully enforced. Highlights include: Appropriate close-toed footwear, leggings-only not allowed, but solid white, navy or black may be worn under skirts. Also a reminder that hats and other distracting headgear (e.g. cat ears) are not a part of our uniform. More details here!
  • Entry/Drop-off: Covid screening (temperature checks) will be at all entry doors (not at cars/in the parking lot). For those using drop off at the OLG gym parking lot, a staff member will be available to assist your child. Please do not accompany your children inside the building.

Thank you for all the volunteers and staff and participation in our safe and sane Supply Night. As we all prepare for our family's return to school, I recently received this link from the Public Health on the best practices for families and schools and was please to see all the layers of protection mentioned are ones we are following to a "T". Please read and rest assured the entire OLG staff have been praying and working for you and your children as we all prepare for a wonderful year ahead!
