THERE IS STILL TIME

TO "ADOPT-A-CHILD"

Over 200 Students Need To Be Adopted

2024 Adopt A Child Informational Flyer

Since 2005, 9,668 students have received new backpacks and school supplies from this program. That is AMAZING! Thank you all who have believed and supported this program.

We are asking for your help again this year. YOU can help ensure a fantastic first day of school in three ways.

  1. ADOPT one or more students on the waiting list. To select a student, CLICK HERE to complete an online registration form. United Way volunteers will match you based on your preferences.
  2. HOST a school supply donation drive. You can place a box at a restaurant, coffee shop, bank, where you work or location people visit. Let United Way of West Central Connecticut know where you're collection drive is and we can help spread the word. CLICK HERE for a list of school supplies we are collecting. 3. DONATE. United Way of West Central Connecticut accepts cash donations, large and small, to purchase backpacks and school supplies so you don't have to. CLICK HERE to donate.

If you have questions about Adopt-A-Child or ways you can get involved, email Sarah Mitchell smitchell@uwwestcentralct.org or call 860-582-9559 x407.

NEW PARTNERSHIP

WITH CT FOODSHARE

We are excited to announce a new partnership with Connecticut Foodshare that will make a significant impact in our community.

United Way of West Central Connecticut, alongside our dedicated partner CT Foodshare, is tackling food insecurity and supporting individuals and families with a Mobile Pantry. This initiative allows individuals and families to access nutritious food at no cost offering a unique opportunity for everyone to "shop" for groceries, and choose from a variety of wholesome items, including fresh produce.

By partnering with local programs and distributing nutritious food, we aim to make a tangible difference in our community. Join us in making a difference! Spread the word and encourage anyone who might benefit from this opportunity to take advantage of it.

Together, we can alleviate hunger and support those in need. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to making our community stronger and supporting those in need.
