United Way of West Central Connecticut's 32nd Day of Caring was a success. The weather was wonderful on Friday, May 17 with over 300 volunteers spending the day giving back to the community.
Some of our returning volunteers were from Cigna, Webster Bank, Bristol CERT, and Thomaston Savings Bank. This year we welcomed several first-time groups to the United Way Day of Caring family - Burlington Chamber of Commerce, The Flood Law Firm, and ReWorld (formerly Convanta).
This year, 20 nonprofits signed up to be project sites. These organizations are dedicated to serving their communities and making a positive impact on society. Among the project sites this year were Burlington Public Library, Community Solutions, Plainville Historic Campgrounds, The Carousel Museum, and many more!
Each of these nonprofits offers unique programs and services that cater to different needs within the community. Whether it be providing support and employment opportunities for adults with disabilities, behavioral health and addiction treatment, preserving the history of carousels or food, shelter, and other essential services to those in need.
Overall, the 20 nonprofits participating as project sites this year represent a diverse array of causes and missions. Each organization is dedicated to making a positive impact on their community, and we are proud to support their efforts through our project.
Thank you to all who participated in this year's Day of Caring. You all showed how strong we are when "Changemakers Unite"!
