While enjoying a well deserved winter break, we want to take this opportunity to highlight some of the hard work, love, and joy that took place at Henderson Collegiate this fall by our students, staff, and alumni.

Jason Dominguez awarded full ride scholarship to Boston College as a QuestBridge Match Scholarship Recipient

Jason Dominguez, a member of the Pride of 2023, has been awarded a full ride scholarship to Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts -- as a QuestBridge Match Scholarship Recipient. Check out this video of Jason and his younger brother Antonio (HC 5th grader) as they learn the news!

Jennifer Rogers, HC's Director of College Counseling, commented, "This is a life-changing event for Jason and his family, an incredible accomplishment. What is even more amazing is that HC has had a student to earn a QuestBridge scholarship in every graduating class since 2019. This is an important indication of the strength of HC's program. This is an achievement not just for the high school, but for everyone within our organization."

There are 4,250,000 seniors in high school in the United States. In 2022 out of 17,900+ applications, only 5,613 were selected as National College Match Finalists. This year, QuestBridge matched 1,755 of these Finalists as Match Scholarship Recipients, thus earning a full ride scholarship to 48 of the most prestigious universities in the country.
Henderson Collegiate High School ranked in the TOP 5% nationally and TOP 5% in North Carolina in 2022.

U.S. News & World Report ranked public and charter high schools for 2022 based on their performance on state-required tests, graduation and how well they prepare students for college. Data are based on 2020-2021, 2019-2020 and 2018-2019 academic years.

Henderson Collegiate Alumnus Thriving with UNC JV Hoops

Khris Franklin from the Pride of 2021 and now at UNC Chapel Hill on a full academic scholarship was recently quoted, “Henderson Collegiate prepared me [for college] by instilling in us that we have to be gritty,’’ said the UNC sophomore and member of their JV North Carolina Tar Heels basketball program. “We were given a lot of time and effort that most schools don’t give to their students. It’s part of the reason why my grades are good and why I have been successful at UNC.” 
Khris is pursuing a pre-med track to become a sports medicine physician.
