Lock-in For Life

Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson in partnership with Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority, Berean Christian Church and Prevailing Love Worship Center present the 2nd Annual Lock-In For Life, an event that will bring together 150 male students ages 13-15 from DeKalb County middle and high schools and give them the tools to develop and/or enhance soft skills to effectively deal with peer pressure. Attendees will also receive pertinent information on mental health, suicide and drug prevention. Several corporations will participate in the Lock-In For Life including health organizations, professional sports athletes, attorneys, professors, civic activists, poets, judges and many other notable DeKalb County citizens.

Every attendee that attends the full event will receive a gift bag, gift card to Chick-fil-A, a copy of The King Inside: Practical Advice for Young African-American Males by Dr. Angelise M Rouse and opportunities to win additional prizes throughout the course of the evening.

Virtual Village 2.0 After-school Programs

This summer's Virtual Village returns with after-school programming!

When the learning day is over, kids and youth still need to engage in activities to keep them entertained and help them thrive. After-school programs have been shown to improve students’ academic performance, encouraging physical activity and good dietary habits, and improve classroom behavior.
