Two October Ribbon Cuttings



This month, the Highwood Chamber of Commerce proudly welcomed two new businesses to the community.

The Cuisine American Bistro, located at 331 Waukegan Avenue, celebrated its arrival with a ribbon-cutting attended by Mayor Charlie Pecaro and Aldermen Andy Peterson and George Markoutsas as well as Chamber Members. The bistro brings fresh energy to Highwood’s dining scene with delicious food and a warm, inviting atmosphere.

We also welcomed The Merchant at 122 North Avenue, where Joseph and Cathy have quickly become part of the community. Their newly refurbished space offers music, salsa lessons, and more, making it a vibrant gathering spot. The Chamber, along with Mayor Pecaro and Alderpeople Krista Hanson, George Markoutsas, and Andy Peterson, joined in celebrating their official opening.

Trick or Treat Trek

Halloween came a little early in Highwood this year, and what a fun afternoon it was! Our local businesses generously opened their doors to hundreds of trick-or-treaters, and the streets were full of costumes, candy, and smiles. A huge thank you to the businesses and families who joined in on the fun — you made it such a great day! See more photos here.
