It's a packed fall season we've got planned with the Fall Guided Hike Series across the province, in-person courses and webinars and another Fireside Chat. So much to do, such little time!
Registration is open for Hike NS’s slate of fall 2020 courses and webinars. In-person courses include: Field Leader - Hiking; Navigation Maps & Compass; and Field Leader - Winter. Webinars include: Intro to Hiking; Leave No Trace; Tick Prevention; and Wildlife Encounters & Safety.
Hike NS and 17 host organizations offer the 2020 Fall Guided Hike Series across NS. There are over 30 hikes led by local folks and participants qualify to win “trail prizes.” These free hikes require pre-registration and will follow public health protocols, including social distancing.
Come to a Hike NS virtual fireside chat on September 30 at 7:30 pm with the Accessible Adventurers. Dee Osmond and Kevin Penny are an interabled couple who post online weekly about their travel adventures and accessibility reviews.
To ensure hike leaders and participants stay safe and follow provincial public health restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, Hike NS has created recommendations to assist hike organizers, leaders and participants. These are not hard-and-fast rules, only guidelines meant to give general direction for managing guided hikes.
"Trails for All" – A Coming Together of the Trails Community in Nova Scotia will happen September 16-18, 2021 in New Minas. Hosted by NS Trails and others, it is for those that love, build and want to know more about trails.
Doctors Nova Scotia’s Healthy Tomorrow Foundation is addressing inactivity levels among Nova Scotians with a new public awareness and engagement campaign called Make Your Move. The goal is to spark a cultural shift wherre movement becomes part of our daily lives.
