Hiking in Benson Park

Robotics for Families with Ned!

Monday, July 3rd @ 10:00am and 12:00pm


Families with children 7+ are welcome to play with Ned, our collaborative robot (or "cobot") arm based on open-source technologies and designed specifically for education, vocational training and more.


Work "all together now" to program Ned to locate, pick up and drop objects, or to just wave "hi"!

Children ages 2-6 are invited to play with our water tables. There will be an indoor activity in the case of inclement weather. 


Older children ages 6-12 and their families can play lawn games. Lawn games canceled for inclement weather.

Be An Earth Hero with Squam Lakes Nature Center

A naturalist from the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center will introduce you to three LIVE ANIMALS native to NH and share the inspiring stories of three Earth Heroes whose work has helped to ensure their survival.

Hudson resident and jazz singer Carol Leary and a duo of musicians present a night of jazz classics and pop standards. Bring your chairs or blankets and a picnic supper if you wish..


This will be outside on the lawn.

Benson Park Hike

Friday, July 7th @ 9:15am


Circulation Librarian Dana Benner will lead a weekly hike at Benson Park. Be prepared for a 45-60 minute hike up and down hill on uneven ground. Meet at the gorilla cage at 9:15 in sturdy shoes to leave for a hike at 9:30. Please remember to bring water.



Rain or shine, but we'll see you next week if it is pouring. No pets please.

Cindy Wilson will share, through photographs and newspaper quotes, what it was like for those living through the historic Hard Winter of 1880-81, which impacted western Minnesota and eastern Dakota Territory just as new settlers were working to establish new towns and farms
