September has many themes, and Preparedness Month is one of them! With the recent hurricanes and tropical storms in the Carribean that are affecting our southern and southeastern states, it brings to focus the importance of being prepared for an emergency or natural disaster. The website Ready.gov has lots of great information about how you and your family can be “prepared, not scared” for disasters. It also provides helpful checklists for how to plan ahead and build a kit to ensure your family can reconnect and have the supplies they need to get through emergency situations.

The HSD Board of Directors comprises seven elected members serving four-year terms and three student representatives serving a one-year term. Board members are community volunteers and do not receive compensation for their work. Board members establish policy based on Oregon and Federal laws governing schools.
