Featured Event: Classified Employee Appreciation Week
The week of March 7 through 11 is Classified Employee Appreciation Week! We are thrilled to have this opportunity to extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks to all of our amazing classified staff members - from bus drivers, to kitchen staff, to instructional assistants, to administrative assistants, to facilities and groundskeeping staff, to custodians, and many more. We truly appreciate how hard you work every day on behalf of our students, schools, district, and community!

Student/Staff Support Day
There will be no school for all students on Friday, March 4, which is a student and staff support day. Reminder for high school students: A/B days are not affected by the day off - they will remain as scheduled. School resumes for all students on Monday, March 7.

ES29 Groundbreaking, March 2, 9:30 a.m.
The community is invited to a groundbreaking ceremony for the new ES29 building in South Hillsboro. Come celebrate the final large project for the 2017 Bond and be part of the history of the district’s newest elementary school! ES29 is located at 7201 SE Kinnaman Road, Hillsboro. Read Across America Guest Reader Videos
Wednesday, March 2, is Read Across America Day and we are fortunate to have two video book readings from City of Hillsboro special guests - one from Mayor Steve Callaway, and one from Water Department staff member Jessica Dorsey and mascot Dewey! Thank you so much for supporting this special day and celebrating the joy of reading!
Google Classroom Tutorial for Families
HSD’s Family Engagement team is hosting Google Classroom Tutorials in English and Spanish on Wednesday, March 2, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Google Meet. See this flyer for more information.
COVID-19 Vaccine Information Sessions
Families interested in learning more about COVID-19 vaccines are invited to attend one of two upcoming virtual Vaccine Information Sessions hosted by OHSU. First is a session in Spanish from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 3; next is a session in English on Tuesday, March 15. 
Adolescent & Young Adult Town Hall on Vaccinations
Youth and young adults (up to age 26) are invited to attend a virtual town hall on the topic of COVID-19 vaccinations among the Adolescent & Young Adult population (AYA) on Thursday, March 3, at 1 p.m. The event will be facilitated by several members of the Association of Maternal & Child Health Program’s (AMCHP’s) Youth Voice Amplified committee. Hip2BSquare 2022
Sequoia Gallery + Studios is getting back on its normal schedule for the popular Hip2BSquare art show. Students in grades K-12 can get one free wood panel for their 2D or 3D art from the gallery at 136 SE 3rd Ave., Hillsboro. Submissions are due by March 26, but can be turned in as early as the week of Mar. 14. The show will be on display during the month of April.

The HSD Board of Directors comprises seven elected members serving four-year terms and three student representatives serving a one-year term. Board members are community volunteers and do not receive compensation for their work. Board members establish policy based on Oregon and Federal laws governing schools.
