Now that the novel coronavirus - COVID-19 - has entered our area, concern is elevated about the role and response of schools. Our District nursing team has been working closely with Washington County Public Health’s Communicable Disease team to ensure there is accurate and up-to-date information available to people about the virus, and our emergency preparedness manager has been working closely with Washington County Public Health’s EMS/Preparedness division on more specific prevention and response plans. We have also been collaborating with our Facilities, Custodial, and Teaching & Learning teams to create concrete action steps at both the school and district level to minimize the spread of the virus and ensure that learning continues. We have created a webpage with resources and information about COVID-19, including a list of HSD-specific rolling updates and FAQs. Please consult this website for the most current information. We will also provide updates on the situation at HSD at least weekly via Hot News and our social media sites.
In this podcast, our Student Board Representatives talk about their role and encourage upcoming juniors and seniors from Century, Liberty, and Hillsboro Online to apply for 2020-21 positionsby April 3.
