Congratulations are in order for Laura Nicholas, 4th grade teacher at Ladd Acres Elementary School. After being nominated by a parent in the spring for her outstanding efforts during what was a very challenging year, FOX 12 and the Oregon Freemasons awarded her the Classroom of the Month award for November 2021. The award includes both an interview between Laura and reporter Stephanie Kralevich, featured on Good Day Oregon, and a fulfilled $1,000 Amazon Wish List for her classroom...

Bond Update: Groner Beam Signing, Dec. 13-15
Be a part of Groner’s history! Members of the Groner K-8 community – especially current and former students, staff and families – are invited to sign new beams that will be installed in the school gymnasium roof as part of current upgrades. The beams will be available for community signing from Dec. 13-15, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (after school).
Dual Language Family Newsletter

High School Oratorical Contest
Our local American Legion Post No. 6 is hosting a Constitutional Speech Contest for high school students. The competition takes place Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022; students must contact the Post by Wednesday, Dec. 22, to be assigned a time slot.
OSAC Scholarships and Grants

Life Changer of the Year Nominations
LifeChanger of the Year is a national recognition program that honors K-12 public school educators and employees annually. Through Sunday, Dec. 31, every K-12 school employee nominated for LifeChanger of the Year will receive a $25 donation in their name to an educational nonprofit, automatic eligibility to win one of 18 awards and cash prizes up to $10,000, and more. Nominations are free and can be done anonymously, if preferred.

The HSD Board of Directors comprises seven elected members serving four-year terms and three student representatives serving a one-year term. Board members are community volunteers and do not receive compensation for their work. Board members establish policy based on Oregon and Federal laws governing schools.
