On Wednesday, April 1, two new things will launch for the Hillsboro School District: supplementary distance learningandbus delivery of meals to students. Information about both endeavors was shared with families in a district-wide letter on Thursday, March 26, which can be found on our coronavirus webpage. Supplementary distance learning will focus on review, research, and skill-building - it will not focus on the learning of new content. None of the assignments will be required or graded, but students are expected to participate. Teachers will be reaching out to students who are not engaging to encourage them to do so. For meals, as of April 1, buses will be traveling through twenty-two routes to deliver meals to students. This distribution model will supplement the on-site distribution taking place between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at Century and Liberty High Schools; R.A. Brown, Evergreen, Poynter, and South Meadows Middle Schools; and Lincoln Street Elementary School. Any changes to the bus routes/stops will be communicated on Fridays for implementation the following Mondays. Families that need assistance with food, clothing, school supplies, or other resources in this challenging time are encouraged to fill out our Resource Request Survey. Our schools and our community partners will do their best to meet requests in support of our students and families.
