Vision Screening for Elementary Students
Starting in late September, HSD will conduct free vision screenings for students in grades K, 1, 3 and 5, in partnership with the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation..
Planning for Possible Quarantine and Isolation
With COVID still active in our community, there is a possibility that students may be asked to stay home due to exposure or personal illness. OHA and ODE have partnered to develop a planning tool to support families in preparing for those situations in advance. Bond Update: Summer 2021 Highlights

Hip 2B Square 2021
Sequoia Gallery + Studios in downtown Hillsboro will host its annual Hip 2B Square event in October 2021 to coincide with Hillsboro Arts Month. Students in grades K-12 can get one free 12”x12” wood panel for 2D or 3D art, which is due between Sep. 23 and 25 for the October show.

Hillsboro Public Library Service Update
Our Hillsboro Public Libraries have made some service changes to protect patrons, employees, and volunteers, while continuing to offer safe and needed library services. Study rooms are now closed and starting Monday, Sep. 13, hours will extend to 8 p.m. M-Th. Learn more on their website.
Block 67 Project Survey and Virtual Open House
The City of Hillsboro invites residents to learn more about plans for the redevelopment of Block 67 during a virtual open house on Thursday, Sep. 16, at 6:30 p.m., and share their thoughts in an online survey by Sep. 30. Learn more on the Block 67 Project website
The HSD Board of Directors comprises seven elected members serving four-year terms and three student representatives serving a one-year term. Board members are community volunteers and do not receive compensation for their work. Board members establish policy based on Oregon and Federal laws governing schools.
