Featured Event: Earth Day
This Thursday, April 22, is Earth Day! And non-profit organization EarthDay.org is hosting a three-day event in its honor. First up will be the global youth climate summit on Tuesday, April 20; next is the Teach for the Planet: Global Education Summit on Wednesday, April 21; and last will be the Earth Day Live digital event, which will begin streaming at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Learn more at EarthDay.org/earth-day-2021. If you’re interested in making an impact locally, consider picking up trash in your neighborhood; renewing your commitment to reducing, reusing, and recycling at home; switching from single use plastic water bottles to reusable; and more - get creative and help reduce your environmental footprint.

Bond Update: McKinney Gym & Renovations
One of the final three gymnasiums being constructed through the bond, the McKinney Elementary gym is progressing toward a scheduled August 2021 completion. Crews continue to work on the framing and exterior sheathing of the gym. Roof panels are expected to be delivered and installed soon. Renovations also started early in the building and are taking place in the evenings. Keep track of the progress at Hillsboro-Bond.org.

Board members are community volunteers and do not receive compensation for their work. Board members establish policy based on Oregon and Federal laws governing schools.
