Featured Event: HSD Retirees
The District’s annual Retirement Celebration took place on Wednesday, May 25 in the South Meadows Middle School library. The theme was “Your Beach Awaits!”, which lent itself to tropical décor, a surfside photo booth, and island-inspired treats. Seventy-nine staff members are retiring from our district this year - 53 classified, 22 licensed, and 4 administrators/supertechs. Between them, they have more than 1,528 years of service in HSD. One retiree - Manuel Ruiz of Facilities - has over 45 years of service! Amazing! We are so grateful to all of our retiring staff members for their dedication and commitment to HSD students, families, and their colleagues. We wish them happiness, relaxation, and fun adventures in life’s next chapter. Click here to see a gallery of photos from the event.

State Seal of Biliteracy Recipients
Congratulations are in order for eighty-three HSD seniors who have obtained their State Seal of Biliteracy by demonstrating academic proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English and Spanish, Vietnamese, or Filipino. Each of these students will receive the seal on their graduation diploma and high school transcript. This accomplishment will ensure that future colleges and/or employers know that they are bilingual and biliterate. We applaud their accomplishments!

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
