Welcome Back Conferences Mark “Soft Start” to School Year
Throughout the week of Sep. 8, staff will be contacting all HSD families to welcome them to the 2020-21 school year, establish a connection with them, and find out if there are technology or any other learning supports their students need. Families can also fill out the Request for Resources form to indicate specific needs their family might have, and school or district staff will follow up. Above all, we want students and families to know we are here for you, we care about you, and we will do whatever we can to help make this unusual situation one that is still engaging and meaningful.
Meal delivery and distribution will begin this week. Thanks to a last-minute decision by the USDA, meals will be provided free to all students through December 2020. This change means that meals will not only be delivered via bus routes (check MyBus for stop locations and times), but will also be available in a drive-through/walk-up model at six schools: Century High School, R.A. Brown Middle School, Evergreen Middle School, Poynter Middle School, South Meadows Middle School, and Lincoln Street Elementary School.
Classes will begin for all students on Monday, Sep. 14. By the end of this week, each student’s StudentVUE account should be updated with teacher and/or class information. If students have forgotten their password, they can reset it at https://password.hsd.k12.or.us.
