Featured Students: Hillsboro Water Polo Teams
Congratulations to Hillsboro’s Boys and Girls Water Polo teams for each taking third place in the 5A State Championships in Corvallis last weekend! This was the first appearance in the final four for the boys, but the third for the girls, who placed 3rd in State in both 2018 and 2019. The boys team earned their 3rd place finish by besting Ashland 23-11, and the girls team earned theirs by scoring 7 goals to West Albany’s 6. Hilhi is the official home of Water Polo and generates most of the teams’ membership, but rosters are also composed of students from Century, Glencoe, and Liberty, as well as those who are homeschooled. Coaches Larry Dickenson, Cam Clitheroe, Peter Dickinson, Aaron Nielsen, Kennedy Godfrey, Kevin Cleary, and Crystal Kociemba have led the teams through a great season. You can follow the teams on Instagram @hilhiwaterpolo

Safe Routes to School Reminder: Let’s Get Visible
One way bicyclists and pedestrians can improve their safety is by being more visible. Here are some tips: Wear bright, reflective clothing and shoes; add reflective tape or reflective stickers to your backpack and other gear; attach a front and back light to your bike; and carry a light while walking during darker times of the day. Remember, while drivers need to be extra alert during low-light hours, it is also important that walkers and cyclists do all they can to be seen.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
